The boys and parents at Our Own English High School in Sharjah enjoyed a week of activities catering to the various grade levels. Sharing their talents and developing an appreciation for how children learn, parents of students in the Primary sections conducted craft and cookery classes for the children. Other sessions popular among the Primary students/parents were, ‘Reading for Pleasure’ at home, and special classes on basic Arabic for parents.
The Middle School invited parents who have distinguished talents or artistic skills to share them with the students, who enjoyed it as they learned from their friends’ parents. The Middle school also invited two parents – Dr Farida Contractor and Dr Parveen Noor, both prominent doctors in renowned hospitals, to conduct workshops for the grade six students. They dealt with the topics ‘Health and Hygiene,’ and ‘Safety First.’ Dr Parveen Noor shared first aid and potential life-saving techniques with the students.
The Senior School organized special talks by Mrs Devika Singh and Mr Sathish Menon, which benefitted the older students.
